Inside America's Spookiest Haunted House and Demonic Possession Case

Posted on Nov 18, 2016

In almost every American state and town, you can hear horrifying stories of haunted houses that terrorize the people living in them. In one of the more recent stories, a woman named Latoya Ammons moved to Gary, Indiana in 2011, with her mom and 3 kids. A seemingly normal move from one place to another made her life a living nightmare when unexplainable things started happening to Latoya and her family.

When the family moved, unusual things started happening at the new house, located on Carolina Street. Things like swarms of flies appearing in the middle of December and appearances of unknown footsteps and footprints all over the house.

Ammons woke up in the middle of the night to check on her daughter, aged 12. Some family friends were staying over at the house, and when they heard Latoya scream, one of them ran to her and saw the daughter. She was totally unconscious, but she levitated over her bed!

The guests couldn't believe it. They started to pray, and the girl landed, not remembering a thing. Ammons wanted to move immediately, but couldn't afford that, so she was forced to endure the horror.

But Then...

But Then...
The guests reported that the other 2 children started to look strange and that there was something evil about them. Their behavior was sinister, such as vicious laughter, screaming, and an odd type of staring.

The next step was contacting clairvoyant experts and priests. The few that inspected the house advised Ammons to rub the hands of the kids with oil and to create an altar that will ward off the evil spirits.

These experts sensed that there were 200 and more demons in the house. They still couldn't stop the possessions. It looked like the children were lost forever.

It got so bad that the mother had to take the children to a hospital where the workers saw them levitating, crawling and gliding over the walls.

What They Saw

What They Saw
Everyone's initial reaction was that what they are seeing can't possibly be real, but seeing is believing, and they claim that they would never believe in a story like that if they hadn't witnessed it themselves. This is exactly what scared off this police chief, who didn't dare to enter the house.

A witness claimed that she experienced a lot of unexplainable physical pain during their stay at the house.

In May, a priest visited the family home. Reverend Maginot tried to exorcise the demons, and it was successful on Latoya. Then, there were 3 other exorcisms in the church, and the police were there to witness it.

The digging did not produce any substantial evidence.

The family finally moved out and the inexplicable events stopped happening to them. However, child services took Ammons' children away for failing to keep them in school. Six months later, the children were returned to her.

The family was fine after that, however, the house still remained a mystery.

In 2016, Zak Bagans, who produced the Travel Channel show "Ghost Adventures" purchased the haunted house and demolished it completely. He filmed a documentary about the house and said that something dark and unnatural was hidden inside it.
