The minimum wage is $7.25 on a federal level and in some places, it's $15. However, if you are working in a profession where tipping is expected, you might get paid only $2 to $5.

In the United States, tipping is the main way waiters and servers around the country can earn their money. If they handle a group of customers that pays for a big and costly meal at the restaurant they work at, a large tip for their services is expected. However, what happens when you get no tips for a big bill?
