While we all know and love superheroes like Batman, Superman, and The Flash, here are some of DC's superheroes that never made it to the big screens and aren't well known (as they should be). Most of these could defeat all three of those beloved superheroes.
Aquaman (Arthur Curry)
Aquaman is one of the most powerful, yet one of the most underrated superheroes of the DC universe. He controls all the oceans and sea creatures, has telepathic powers and incredible strength. He also wields an indestructible trident which is the only weapon that can pierce through Superman's skin, and a water arm that can heal, freeze and create portals to other dimensions.
Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)
Booster Gold was initially depicted as a show-off who came from the future and staged heroic feats using technology from the future and knowledge about historical events. Later, however, Booster became one of the most valuable Justice League members and gained all the virtues of a true hero through personal tragedy.
Big Barda (Barda Free)
Big Barda is a warrior from the planet Apokolips, trained by Granny Goodness to lead the Female Fury Battalion. She possesses strength equal to Wonder Woman's and is indestructible. She wields a weapon called "Mega-Rod" that produces immensely powerful bolts.
Zatanna (Zatanna Zatara)
Zatanna Zatara is both a stage magician and a real magician. She belongs to the mystical "homo magi" race, and can use her words to create magical commands. She used her powers to alter the memory of many DC characters. Zatanna also had numerous relationships, including Batman and Constantine.
This superhero was initially a scientist that studied a fallen white dwarf star and found a way to control his body on the atomic level. He is able to shrink, increase/decrease his mass and travel through wires as an electron or through optical cables as a photon.
Red Tornado (John Smith)
Red tornado is an android whose body is composed of tiny nanites, allowing him to shapeshift at will. He can create immensely powerful winds that allow him to fly. He is also highly intelligent and possesses the ability to enter any computer system.
Shazam (William Joseph Batson)
Billy Batson is a homeless boy who got his abilities from six ancient deities, allowing him powers equal (or even greater) to Superman's. He only has to say the word "Shazam" to turn into this indestructible superhero whose only weaknesses are very powerful magic and his own immaturity.
Doctor Fate (Hector Hall)
He co-founded the Justice League and has almost every power imaginable, such as telekinesis, super strength, and the ability to control fire. He uses magic in the form of ancient hieroglyphs from Egypt.
Captain Atom (Nathaniel Cristopher Adam)
Captain Atom was initially a pilot whose body was disintegrated in an experiment. He miraculously reappeared with the ability to control the force of fusion by colliding his atoms, and capacity to absorb massive amounts of energy (for example, the energy of a star) and release them at once.
Martian Manhunter (J'onn J'onzz)
Martian Manhunter is one of the strongest and wisest superheroes in the DC universe. Originally brought to Earth by a teleportation beam, Martian Manhunter stayed on Earth as a highly respected member of the Justice League, feared even by the great Superman.
Constantine (John Constantine)
John Constantine is a magician and an anti-hero in the DC Universe. He declares himself the protector of the Earth. He rarely uses magical spells, unless he has to, especially in combat. One notable example was him creating a miniature sun to overpower a vampire. He mastered pyrokinesis, electrokinesis, and time manipulation, and is also knowledgeable in curses and counter spells.
Blue Beetle (Ted Cord)
Dan Garret is an archaeologist who began fighting crime and his neighbor, a pharmacist called Doctor Franz, provided him with the Vitamin 2-X which greatly increased Garret's strength and stamina. Garett later stumbles upon an ancient alien weapon called the Blue Beetle Scarab found in Egypt. His student and successor is Ted Kord, although he never used the Scarab itself.
