Volcanoes are probably the most feared natural force and for good reason, too. When a large enough eruption occurs, entire cities can be destroyed within minutes, and there is often no warning. This list shows 12 of the world's most dangerous active volcanoes that you don't want to be around when they blow.

1. Mexico: Popocatepetl

Mexico: Popocatepetl
This volcano in Mexico is proving to be a greater and greater problem for the inhabitants. It has erupted 11 times in the last 25 years, and back in 2000, over 40 thousand people had to be evacuated due to potential risks. Even in 2016, the authorities had to set a 7.5-mile security ring around the volcano, which was sending smoke over 6,000 feet into the atmosphere. Scientists say this volcano has the capacity to wreak havoc upon the area in the near future.
