These 10 Upcoming Blockbusters Are GUARANTEED to Become Box Office Disasters of 2016
Posted on Mar 29, 2016
Take a look at our predictions for the least successful upcoming blockbusters of 2016. These will bomb so badly!
The recent trend of adapting video games into movies has not been very successful. Even though the game, World of Warcraft, is a very successful one, the movie might not be able to find its target audience. Warcraft will be released on June 10, 2016.
2. The Huntsman: Winter's War
This movie is a prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, which came out in 2012. The original film made $400 million, however, this movie might bomb because of its recently released trailer, which hasn't been very popular on the Internet. The Huntsman: Winter's War will bomb the box office on April 22, 2016.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows
Even though the 2014 movie made $500 million, the TMNT franchise has changed directors for the sequel. It is possible that the film will be rushed and that it will not earn as much money as the original. It will be released on June 3, 2016.
4. The Angry Birds Movie
The video game came out 7 years ago, and its popularity is still going strong. However, we should consider the fact that the game doesn't have a specific story that can be used on the big screen. In other words, The Angry Birds Movie is a recipe for a box office catastrophe. It will be released on May 20, 2016.
The original film was released in 1959 and to this day, it is one of the most successful films ever made. It earned $1.2 billion at the box office, which was an enormous amount of money in 1959. Judging by other unsuccessful remakes of classic movies, we think that this movie will bomb at the box office. Ben-Hur will be released on August 12, 2016.
6. The Legend Of Tarzan
Even though Tarzan is a very popular character, the previous film entitled Tarzan and the Lost City from 1998 was a total box office disaster. The Legend of Tarzan is based on this movie, which features an outdated plot, so it is very likely that it will bomb on its release date, which is July 1, 2016.
7. Star Trek Beyond
The previous Star Trek movies have been moderately successful worldwide, but they were far from reaching the estimated figures. Because of this, Star Trek Beyond has all the signs of a box office disaster. Star Trek Beyond will be released on July 22, 2016, and it will mark the 50th anniversary of Paramount.
The Da Vinci Code earned $785 million at the box office. It was one of the most thrilling films of 2006, along with Angels & Demons from 2009. However, Angels & Demons did very bad, and based on its statistics, it could mean that Inferno will bomb at the box office too. The release date of Inferno is October 28, 2016.
9. Independence Day: Resurgence
We know what you're thinking: a sequel to Independence Day, one of the most epic movies of all time? We don't want to get you down, but Will Smith isn't even in the film! Without him, we doubt that this movie will be a success. It is set for release on June 24, 2016.
10. Alice Through the Looking Glass
Alice in Wonderland was a big success of 2010, but it is possible that the sequel will bomb. Even though the first movie made a billion dollars worldwide, the new director of the sequel, James Robin, has made a couple of very unsuccessful movies in the past couple of years. Alice Through the Looking Glass will be released on May 27, 2016.
