Experts estimate that these wooden carvings were created in the Netherlands or in Flanders, approximately from the years 1500 to 1530. They are called boxwood carvings and the way they were created has been a complete mystery until some experts looked at them under an x-ray machine.

The exhibition was held in Ontario at the AGO Art Gallery with the help of other museums which made micro-CT scans and used software for 3D analysis. There were more than 50 of these pieces.
