If you are determined to travel around the world, what would be your cheapest option? You are probably thinking about how it's not possible to give a brief answer to that question, and you need to some research first. Well, Nikki and Adam wrapped up all the different options and possibilities into one simple solution - a mobile home. Check out what they did.
The First Step
This idea was a joke at first, but after having a quick moment to think about it for real, they realized it could seriously be the best and most achievable option for their plan to travel around the world with lowest possible costs.
They Thought of Everything
They decided to buy a Ford Transit van that offered the best options. They chose it because it had parts that could be easily found and replaced worldwide in case it breaks down.
The Van Was Perfect
This van didn't require a special license, and it's the biggest vehicle they could find that allowed them to drive with their standard license around the world.
Before They Started to Work
They made the 3D plan of the rooms inside the van. They had to use all the available space in the van.
Starting with the Floor and Walls
They added insulation, plywood, and wooden boards.
They used solar panels placed on the roof to generate electricity for the entire home. It can even power the water pump!
And if It's Cold Outside
They have a small stove that doesn't take a lot of space, but it still good enough to heat up the whole place.
Bedroom and Toilet
They placed the bedroom on top of the cabin, and this love nest looks pretty romantic. The toilet is small but is not crowded, and it has a shower.
There is a sofa that has a drawer under it, which is a pretty smart move since it is more compact and leaves more free space inside the van.
The kitchen is also incredibly functional as well as very cute! Just look at what they achieved! And they had no experience in crafting wood or electricity installations before this little project.
The Plan to Upgrade It in Future
They said they'll in some minor tweaks, like vinyl covering on the floor. But other than that, it's pretty amazing!
Everything Is Possible When You Put Your Heart Into It
Even though the project began as a joke, they made it happen. And they did it because of their enthusiasm for traveling and their love for each other. We wish them best!
